It was well worth the £20 until this update was released! Ive been using it all morning without an issue and then it decides to update, now I get the spinning circle of death permanently in the top right of New Names. On the FREE windows version there is the facility for subtitles, that would be an excellent addition to the mac version. Must admit though, this has saved me a lot of time in renaming programs etc for plex, well worth the £20.
So whether I had a network blipp at the time of the update, im not sure. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled again from the app store and the problem corrected itself. Since you have a use case for generic file move/rename tools, you might be happy to find out that FileBot has that ability as well as a bonus feature: If you are thinking of purchasing this for organising your library I would recommend combining this with NameChanger (free) and Big Mean Folder Machine 2 (£15) as I have found these programs complimentary.Īgain don’t be put off by the £20 price tage on FileBot! In terms of films it appears to do quite well. It also does fairly well in identifying specials and/or non-sequential articles providing these can be found on ‘thetvdb’. It can rename entire seasons without you getting your hands dirty, the only flaw is sometimes if the database sequencing is awry which is not the fault of the programme!

It will take care of your Kodi or Plex naming conventions and if there is any ambiguity in iteration of series eg the original Doctor Who (1963) and the rebooted Doctor Who (2005) then it will prompt you. I have been using this for some time now and as somebody who is constantly reorganising/moving their tv and film collections between media formats and to/from different storage media this is without a doubt one of the greatest investments I have made in terms of post processing software. It’s altogether too easy to scoff at the price - £20 is a lot to take a punt on (on the off chance the app does what it says)!
